Explore the Roman city of Arles during a private full-day tour from Aix-en-Provence. Visit the historic center to see the main monuments on a 1-hour of guided walking tour and drive Saint-Rémy de Provence to admire the Roman monuments and Van Gogh health care center. Then drive to the medieval hilltop village of Baux de Provence to visit the 10th century fortress or enjoy a unique art show in the Carrières de Lumières.
Meet your guide in the morning in your central hotel and head to the Roman city of Arles. Take a tour of the historic center to see the main monuments, arena, amphitheater, Saint-Trophime church, city hall and forum square, as well as the Van Gogh café, garden and hospital. Drive through the Alpilles Valley to reach Saint-Rémy de Provence village, place of birth of Nostradamus. There admire the Roman Mausoleum and triumphal arch. Visit the ancient Van Gogh health care center where he lived for a year. There will be free time for lunch in the village center.After your visit to Saint-Rémy de Provence, drive to the medieval hilltop village of Baux de Provence. Admire the incredible views of the surrounding Provence countryside. Choose to either visit the village and 10th century fortress or see a unique light and art show at the Carrières de Lumières. Famous works of art by the Renaissance painters are projected onto the walls of the former quarry in one of Europe's most unique attractions. You will have time to visit both but the Carrieres entrance fee is not included in the tour.At the end of your visit, drive back to Aix-en-Provence with your guide
