Getting There & Away

It's easiest to explore this region in your own vehicle, but it's perfectly feasible to see much of it by public transport. Buses run east and west from Helsinki, stopping in all the tourist towns and villages along the southern coast. The southwestern corner, especially the Turku Archipelago, is well served by buses from Turku.

The reach of the rail network is not quite as extensive, but trains are useful to get to larger towns such as Turku, Hanko and Kotka.
