The prospect of spending a night in this wonderfully characterful hotel is reason enough for visiting Mänttä; when combined with a visit to the world-class Serlachius Museum Gösta, the prospect is even more enticing. A 1938 Moderne-style mansion, it offers three huge superior rooms overlooking the lake. These have their original (wonderful!) 1930s bathrooms, good beds, parquet floors and seating.
Standard rooms in the same building are also large; some share a bathroom. There are also economy rooms in the former staff annexe; these share bathrooms but are both comfortable and attractive. Facilities include a kitchenette for guest use and an art-adorned guest lounge with a billiard table. The glorious garden has a sculpture-sprinkled lawn that extends down to the lake; it's a perfect place in which to while away an afternoon.
Offering free parking and free Wi-Fi access, this hotel is a 10-minute walk from central Mänttä. Most rooms feature furnishings by Finnish company Artek. Mäntänlahti Bay is 150 metres away. A work desk is found in all rooms at Art Hotel Honkahovi. Some rooms have a sofa, flat-screen TV and a private balcony with lake views. Relaxation options include a terrace. Exhibitions and concerts are regularly organized at the hotel. Keuruu city centre is a 30-minute drive away. Helvetinjärvi National Park is 1 hours’ drive from Honkahovi Art Hotel.
