Alongside the harbour, this is Helsinki's iconic market hall. Built in 1888 it’s still a traditional Finnish market, with wooden stalls selling local flavours such as liquorice, Finnish cheeses, smoked salmon and herring, berries, forest mushrooms and herbs. Its centrepiece is its superb cafe, Story. Look out too for soups from Soppakeittiö.
