Checking flights...

At Matei airport, Fiji Airways has at least one flight a day to/from Nadi (1½ hours) and Suva (45 minutes). Northern Air has daily flights between Taveuni and Suva.

Be aware that routes are often heavily booked and are cancelled at the hint of bad weather. Leave yourself a grace period between Taveuni and your international flight in case you get stuck a day or two.

The Wairiki Wharf, for large vessels such as the MV Suliven and Lomaviti Princess, is about 1km south of Waiyevo. Smaller boats depart from the Korean Wharf, about 2km north

The Lomaiviti Princess, operated by Goundar Shipping, arrives and departs Taveuni on Tuesdays and Saturdays on its Suva–Savusavu–Taveuni run: a ticket between Taveuni and Savusavu is $30. Goundar is expected to put on a second boat in 2016.

Boat-bus trips run from Taveuni to Savusavu and Labasa ($17 to $25). Boats depart from the Korean Wharf at 7.30am. You may be able to buy tickets on-board, but it's best to book ahead at the wharf. Operators are Grace Ferry and Egi One.
