Welcome to Navua & the Namosi Highlands
The steamy Namosi Highlands north of Pacific Harbour have some of Fiji’s most spectacular mountain scenery, including dense lush rainforests, steep ranges, deep river canyons and tall waterfalls. If you have your own wheels (preferably 4WD and in dry weather), take a detour as far inland as you can from Nabukavesi, east of Navua. Or drive the back road to Suva if you’re heading that way. If you intend to visit a village, take along some kava. Sunday is observed as a day of rest.
Navua itself isn't much of a draw, but it is the launchpad for trips into the interior. The agricultural town is a base for dairy farming, rice and other crops.
