I'm considering going to EG in November for about 5-7 days to Bioko as a side-trip from a visit to Cameroon.
I've the impression that Equatorial Guinea is opening up a bit more towards tourism and that getting a tourism visa is perhaps slightly less a shot at the lottery than it used to be - they seem for example to have dropped the letter of invitation.
Has anyone recently applied for a tourism visa at the London Embassy? If so, I have a few questions:
- The website states…
Secured my visa today in Moscow, so can really start planning now.
I have four days in Malabo/on Bioko Island. Does anyone have any tips on what to do and if necessary how to get things organized?
Officially it seems we need yellow fever (have that), small pox (not available and I have never been in the military) and cholera (hard to get).
Is anyone going to ask for these - both at immigration and at the point of departure airport for the flight to Malabo?
Hi there, we want to go to EG this August. Do you have any uptodate info about the border crossing in Rio Campo? Is it possible. Has anyone done that out there?
I am German and my friend is American. How can we get from there to Bata? Many thanks
I'm an Australian citizen looking to visit Equatorial Guinea - and obviously I'm trying to work out how to get a visa! There is no embassy in Australia. Do I have any chance in obtaining one in Gabon or Cameroon?
Thanks for the help!
First: we did not succeed in getting visa to Equatorial Guinea (EG) as we ran out of time - but we now know what to do next time - hope the following research will help. As my wife said: there is a reason why EG is one of the most difficult countries in the world to visit
- Americans are excepted for this bureaucracy as they can get VOA
- I am Danish and there will of course be different rules based on your nationality but in general this info should apply for at least Europeans
Hello, I will be going to Malabo in either January or February of 2017, and will be flying out of Los Angeles. I am trying to find the cheapest way possible. So far, I have found the best airfare connecting through Madrid and Barcelona...I would appreciate any tips on how to find the cheapest fare available..Maybe I'm overlooking something? Any and all tips/ advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
