An open-top bus 501 runs to Portland Bill, Isle of Portland, from late July to August (£2.40, 45 minutes, seven daily). Four buses also run there on Saturday and Sunday from April to late July and in September.

The Jurassic Coaster (bus X53, four daily to hourly, no service winter Sundays) travels west from Weymouth to Axminster (2½ hours), via Abbotsbury (35 minutes) and Lyme Regis (1¾ hours). A Day Rider ticket costs adult/child £12/6; shorter fares are available.
