Enterprise Boats runs a regular daily ferry service down the Fal River to Falmouth and St Mawes.
King Harry Ferry At the end of the road from Playing Place to Trelissick Gardens, this old-fashioned chain ferry chugs several times an hour across the Fal River to the Roseland Peninsula. It cuts off a road trip of around 14 miles from Truro, but it's quite a pricey journey, all things considered. If the ferry's already left, you have to queue up the hill until it chugs back the other way. It's not a long wait, usually only around 15 to 20 minutes.
Truro's bus station is beside Lemon Quay.
Falmouth (£5.40, half-hourly Monday to Saturday, hourly Sunday) The U1 bus runs via Penryn.
