One of London’s most individual boutique hotels, this vibrant 27-room establishment is a much needed shot of tequila into the hotel landscape of London. Run by a half-Spanish, half-English brother duo, the hotel brims with colour, vibrant details and Mexicana (the tiled bathrooms will perk up anyone’s day). The smallest rooms share bathrooms. Very off-the-beaten track but transport links are good.
The Church Street Hotel is decorated in a Cuban/Mexican style, with bright colours, arched doorways, wood furniture and hand-painted tiles.
Some rooms have shared bathroom facilities and some rooms have en suite bathrooms. All rooms come with premium L'Occitane toiletries and some have air conditioning LED TVs and DVD players. The house signature hot sauce, organic chocolate and mineral water are complimentary to each room.
The wood-panelled Havana-style lounge offers free organic teas and coffees and a DVD library. The honesty bar has an artisan selection of single malts, rums, spirits and fine wines.
The property is 10 minutes' walk from Denmark Hill Overground Station, and a 12-minute bus ride from Oval Tube Station.
Guests can enjoy daily passes to access the gym, pool and classes at Camberwell Leisure Centre, just 1 minute walk from the property. Day passes are available at reception at an extra cost of GBP 10.
The hotel building comprises 3 townhouses and is approximately 150 years old.
