Getting There & Away

The East Riding’s isolated position on the east coast, cut off by the deep estuary of the Humber, means that it’s not on the way to anywhere else – you need to make an effort to get there.

There are good rail links from York and Leeds to Hull, and north from Hull to Beverley, Bridlington and Scarborough. Away from the rails, you are at the mercy of scattered and often infrequent local bus services – you’ll need a car for any serious exploring.
