Standing conveniently just north of the A40, Burford is one of the easiest Cotswold towns to reach by road. It’s often the first port of call for drivers coming from Oxford (20 miles east) or London (75 miles southeast).

Stagecoach and Swanbrook buses run to/from Burford. Local buses stop on High or Sheep Sts, but express services stop at the A40 roundabout, five minutes' walk south of the centre. Bus destinations include the following:

Cheltenham (route 853; £4.50, 45 minutes)

Gloucester (route 853; £6, 1¼ hours)

Oxford (route 853; £6.30, 45 minutes to 1¼ hours)
