It's worth staying here for the breakfasts alone. Former chef Pam's speciality is cheese and black-pepper muffins with bacon and poached eggs, and the sideboard groans with fresh strawberries, melon, pineapple and prunes. The rooms are smashing as well: stylish in muted tones, with posh biscuits and fluffy bathrobes.
