Our Review

Country food with a modern twist is served at the Cowshed. The focus is on quality, locally sourced meat – aged beef, slow-braised lamb, pork belly, plus the pièce de résistance, 'steak on stone', served sizzling on a hot lava rock. The three-course lunch is excellent value.

Breakfasts (£4 to £12) are superb, ranging from meat feasts (think prime sausages and bacon, or steak and eggs) to caramelised grapefruit and organic granola.
