The present Hall was built in 1604 and has seen Civil War and the involvement in the Gun Powder plot.It became a Rectory in 1756 and remained so until1967 when it was part of the government buildings of Chesterfield, during a reshuffle in1974 The Staveley Town Council bought itNow you can join me as we explore the church and chambers of this beautifully restored Building and the St John the Baptist Church next door. And of course the underground storerooms and cellars. But be careful, not all of the old residents have left.
