Come and join us for a unique opportunity to see the stunning North Cotswolds and have the opportunity to travel by steam train.  Our tour, led by professional and entertaining guides,  visits some of the most beautiful villages of the Cotswolds, with their quaint stone cottages, shops and tea rooms and takes you for a drive through undiscovered country lanes with breathtaking scenery.  Just when you think it can't get any better, you board a steam train for a 30 minute ride through some of the most enchanting scenery of the Cotswolds.  This is an opportunity to take a step back in time and enjoy the golden age of train travel.  At the end of your train journey, you will be collected again and continue to explore the delights of the North Cotswolds before returning to Oxford.
ItineraryThis is a typical itinerary for this productStop At: Minster Lovell Hall & Dovecote, Minster Lovell, Witney, Oxfordshire, EnglandYour tour takes you first to the delightful village of Minster Lovell with its ruined manor house and quaint thatched cottages. This is a short photo stop with time to take some pictures of the first of many pretty villages you will see on your tour.Duration: 20 minutesStop At: Burford, Burford, Cotswolds, EnglandWe continue on to Burford, the 'Gateway of the Cotswolds', where you will have time to browse in the quirky shops and cafes.Duration: 30 minutesStop At: Bourton on the Water, Bourton-on-the-Water, Cotswolds, EnglandThe next part of our drive will take you through some of the old quarrying villages of the Cotswolds with their charming stone cottages and through some spectacular scenery to Bourton-on-the-Water (the 'Venice of the Cotswolds'). Here you will have time to browse in the quaint shops and walk across the stone bridges of the River Windrush.Duration: 40 minutesStop At: Winchcombe Folk and Police Museum, Winchcombe, Cotswolds, EnglandA drive through yet more beautiful scenery takes you to the medieval town of Winchcombe, with its charming cafes and country pubs, where we will break for lunch. After lunch you will board a steam locomotive for your 30 minute ride to the Worcestershire Cotswolds village of Broadway.Duration: 1 hourStop At: Broadway Tower, Broadway, Cotswolds, EnglandYour train journey ends in the beautiful unspoilt Worcestershire village of Broadway. Time to enjoy browsing in the shops and cafes before continuing your journey through the Cotswolds. Duration: 30 minutesPass By: High Street Chipping Campden, Chipping Campden, Cotswolds, EnglandLeaving Broadway, we head for the lovely market town of Chipping Campden where you will have a panoramic guided tour of the town.Stop At: Stow-on-the-Wold Market Square, Stow-on-the-Wold, Cotswolds, EnglandYour next stop on the tour is the quaint market town of Stow-on-the-Wold, the highest town in the Cotswolds. Enjoy a cream tea in one of the small cafes or window shop in the quirky antiques shops.Duration: 40 minutesStop At: Blenheim Palace, Woodstock, Oxfordshire, EnglandOur final stop on your amazing Cotswolds itinerary will be a short photo stop at the gates of Blenheim Palace, where you will get an impressive view of this iconic building (the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill), before returning to Oxford.Duration: 10 minutes
