The waterfront is lined with open-air restaurants where you can dine while gazing out over the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Aqaba. None of the food served up is really stand-out fantastic – most places go for quantity (with menus that read like novellas) rather than quality – but the chilled-out ambience can't be beaten.
Roving Street Vendors
If you're a dessert fan, keep an eye out for the mobile carts which work the waterfront promenade. In particular, Ali's blue cart roams the length of the pedestrian strip serving up traditional ruz bi laban (rice pudding).
