EgyptAir has three flights to Aswan from Abu Simbel Airport per day from Sunday to Friday. All easily connect with Aswan–Cairo flights.
Buses from Abu Simbel to Aswan (LE60, four hours) leave at 6am and 1pm from Wadi El Nil restaurant on the main road. There’s no advance booking – tickets are purchased on board.
The vast majority of visitors to Abu Simbel come here on an organised tour from Aswan. All the hotels, cruise ships and travel agencies in Aswan can arrange tours. Budget trips – which basically just include return transport with two hours at the site – start from about LE400. There is no longer a convoy from Aswan to Abu Simbel, but foreigners should travel between 5am and 5pm, and the transport company should apply for a permission one day before.
