Spend a week exploring the incredible wildlife of the Galápagos archipelago in the company of an expert Naturalist Guide. Day 1 Quito A G Adventures representative will greet you at the hotel and brief everyone on the various aspects of the tour. Additional Notes: If you are not able to attend the welcome meeting, a representative will leave all important information at the hotel’s reception indicating what time to be ready on Day 2 of the trip. If there is any confusion on arrival, please do not hesitate to call the contact number listed in this dossier. Booking pre- or post-trip accommodation is highly recommended to fully experience the city and take advantage of the many optional activities available. Day 2 Quito/San Cristóbal Island (1B, 1L, 1D) Upon arrival in San Cristóbal, meet the Naturalist Guide, who will assist with the transfer to the Archipell I. Additional Notes: Flights from Quito to San Cristobal depart between 8:10am and 10:10am depending on the day of the week. These will arrive into the Galápagos between 10:40am and 12:40pm with a refuelling stop in Guayaquil (you will not disembark the plane). You will generally arrive onto the boat in time for lunch before the afternoon activity. The National Park charges a visitor fee of USD100, payable on arrival, which funds park maintenance and supervision in the Galápagos, as well as ecological study, conservation and infrastructure development in Ecuador's other National Parks. Entry fees and the funds they generate for the National Park System are among measures taken by the Ecuadorian government to protect its natural heritage. Day 3 South Plaza/Santa Fé Island (1B, 1L, 1D) Morning landing at South Plaza, enjoy sea bird spotting opportunities and a walk through the cactus forest, home to one of the largest populations of land iguanas in the islands. In the afternoon visit Santa Fé, one of the smallest islands packed with sea lions, a prickly pear forest, and land iguanas. Day 4 Floreana Island (1B, 1L, 1D) Visit Champion Islet for a morning snorkel excursion. In the afternoon, enjoy guided walks to observe seabirds, wildlife, and learn about the history of settlers on Floreana Island. Day 5 Puerto Ayora (1B, 1L, 1D) Visit the Charles Darwin Research Station and the highlands of Santa Cruz to try to see giant land tortoises in the wild, then enjoy free time to explore Puerto Ayora. Day 6 Isabela Island (1B, 1L, 1D) Included Activities: Las Tintoreras Excursion Flamingo Lagoon Visit Giant Tortoise Breeding Centre Visit Transport: Archipell I
Day 7 Isabela Island/Elizabeth Bay (1B, 1L, 1D) Land at Punta Moreno on the southwest coast of Isabela to see lava formations, flamingos, and amazing views of the three most active volcanoes in the Galápagos Islands. Visit Elizabeth Bay which offers amazing bird and marine life viewing opportunities. Head out in the pangas and explore the shallows and mangroves to look for sea turtles and penguins. Day 8 Tagus Cove/Fernandina Island (1B, 1L, 1D) Stop for a visit at Tagus Cove and hike to a lookout to get a stunning view of the bay. Spot old graffiti on the cliffs from whalers and pirates who once visited the cove. Continue to Punta Espinoza on Fernandina Island, the youngest of the Galápagos Islands. Day 9 Bachas Beach/Quito (1B) Reach Bachas Beach in the morning. Disembark after breakfast and enjoy a guided walk on Bachas Beach. Transfer to the airport for the flight to Quito.
