Two volcanic rocks of 140 meters tall, located off the coast of San Cristobal Island. When viewed from the south the rocks look like a sleeping lion, which is why the Spanish name is León Dormido (sleeping lion). From another side it looks more like a boot, hence the English name: Kicker Rock. This magnificent tiny island is the favorite place for an array of marine birds. The natural erosion of this ancient cone has created a channel between the rocks that provides the ideal habitat to view a variety of sharks and rays including eagle rays, white-tip reef sharks, and sometimes even the Galapagos shark and hammerheads! You will get the chance to spot a wide array of sea birds, marine wildlife, penguins, and the ever playful sea lions. The activity takes about 6 hours. They are located opposite to each other and are similar to craters. However, the name is only figurative. These formations were created by the collapse of surface material due to lava flows. Duration: 4 hoursStop At: Charles Darwin Research Station, Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz, Galapagos IslandsYou have a local lunch. In the afternoon you’ll visit the renowned Charles Darwin Research Station. You stay in a deluxe hotel in Puerto Ayora; Hotel Ikala.
