Head 1km south of 10 de Agosto on Benalcazar to access this green belt down by the river. There's about 3km of trails along the grassed riverbank, making this a great afternoon picnic spot.

In the park you'll find a statue of Riobamba Bishop Leonida Proaño, who was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for his work to free indigenous groups from virtual enslavement that lasted on the haciendas of the region well into the 20th century.
