This is one of Cuenca region's community tourism projects, running on demand to the nearby community of Tarqui. One-of-a-kind day-long programs include visiting a cuy (guinea pig) breeding center, demonstrations of typical Inca rituals, picnics with the locals and the like. Only Spanish is spoken, so you will need to speak some to gain something from the experience.

Contact them in advance to arrange pick-up, which can be hard as there is no set meeting point.
