Have a complete overview of Ecuador´s biodiversity and culture, enjoying a quick getaway from Quito! Visit the most popular National Park in Ecuador's mainland, and experience Baños de Agua Santa going out of the beaten path! This is a perfect private adventure to absorb some of the main highlights of this wonderful country!
DAY 1: We start at 08h00 from your hotel, we will travel south along the avenue of the volcanoes. At 09h30 we will admire Cotopaxi Volcano (5.897 meters), and we´ll be surrounded by amazing pristine forests, mountains, lagoons, wild horses and ecosystems that may change as you go higher! You will see also the exotic wildlife while we walk around the Limpiopungo Lake (3.800 m.a.s.l.)! Then we will have the amazing challenge to drive uphill to the parking lot located at 4.500 meters above sea level, in order to reach an altitude of 4.800 meters, where the refuge “Jose Rivas” is! Afterwards, we will visit San Agustín del Callo, an impressive colonial farm house in Ecuador, built over Inca structures! In the afternoon we go towards Baños de Agua Santa (1.800 m), located at the foothills of Tungurahua Volcano (5.000 m) which has been in eruption since 1997! We will stay the overnight at the Hotel Volcano. There we will have time to do a city tour and later on to enjoy its lovely nightlife! DAY 2: We leave at 08h30, towards the avenue of the waterfalls. On the way we are able to admire the hydroelectric dam and many waterfalls such as: “Gate to Heaven”, “ Manto de la Novia” where we will use a cable car to get across the Pastaza River canyon! Afterwards we will hike one hour down to “ Pailón del Diablo”. After lunch, we descend to the eastern flanks of the Andes to the city of Puyo, located at 800 meters above sea level. There we will experience weather change and Amazon vegetation! We will go to Yanacocha Animal Rescue Center, where we can see important Amazon fauna species of the region such as monkeys, parrots, macaws, alligators, charapas, peccaries and turtles in their natural environment! After this great adventure, we will be back in Quito approximately at 18h30, totally amazed about the big variety of ecosystems and wildlife of Ecuador!
