There are a few small shops selling handmade larimar jewelry along the coastal road. This rare stone, unique to the DR, is a great memento of the remarkable color of the sea along this coast. Stones range in price from RD$200 to RD$6000 depending on the size of the raw piece. Two of the best spots are the new Museo Larimar, on the coastal highway, and the smaller, more rustic Gift Shop Noelia along the beachside road that goes through Bahoruco and La Ciénaga (it's next door to Restaurant Luz and run by the same family).
The former is well signposted along the main highway. To reach the latter once you've entered Bahoruco on the main highway, pass the baseball ‘diamond,’ cross a bridge and look for an unsigned road that goes to your left along the beach. Follow that road to the beach for about 800m, and you'll see Restaurant Luz on your left and Noelia on your right.
