This community-tourism project consists of wood and concrete cabins, each with bunks and a porch, set amid lush jungle above the roaring Río Yaque del Norte. There’s electricity, hot showers and mosquito nets. Meals are available with notice. It's not signposted, so, coming from Jarabacoa, look for a tiny shop at the right-hand side of the road.
The project was initiated by the women of the village of Los Calabazos, around halfway between Jarabacoa and Manabao.
