HI, I've been hired by a company based in Dominica to work several months from October.
As I'm French, I guess the easiest way to get there would be first to fly either to Guadeloupe or Martinique Since there are French overseas departments, there must be plenty of flights for these destinations.

My questions are the following:
-Are there low-cost airlines to Martinique or Guadeloupe departing from Metropolitan France?
-I don't know yet when I'll return to France. When my work is finished, I'd…

Two crazy parents taking our firey toddlers to Dominca for 1 week seeking advice on a unique hotel stay that is out of the box, but safe for kids. Anything eco, tree house (with railing of course), glamping, rainforest, family, indigenous stay like accommodations that are NOT ordinary. Here is our itinerary:

Day 1: arrival DOM from SJU with Liat and Southwest then transportation to hotel (hopefully closer to DOM would be preferred).
Day 2: champagne pool and snorkeling or emerald pool
Day 3…

Hi,

I have a 6 hour layover in Dominica and would like to hire a driver to visit some of the island. Can anyone recommend anyone?

Also, what do people recommend as must-see sights on Dominica?
Thanks

We are a Swedish couple, 60 year young, planing to go to Dominica. We know that Dominica isn´t famous for for its many beaches, but we only need a few, and would like to find a suitable accommodation, gladly a small cottage, close to a nice and safe beach.
We travel on a budget and no luxury or lots of space is needed (or expected) but a bathroom and a kitchen would be nice. A porch and view is desirable.
Is it possible to find, and were do we find it, is it like in many Caribbean islands, all…

My husband and I just returned from a vacation in Dominica. We stayed in Calibishie, and weren't able to get a rental car (we didn't book ahead and everything was already reserved), so working with a guide and driver was pretty essential for us to be able to see some of the things we wanted to see, without a ton of time. The owner of our guest house (Main Road Suites - also HIGHLY recommended, we stayed in the cottage) connected us with a guide who turned out to be one of the best guides we've…

Hi travellers!
I visited Dominica on mid February. I was very concerned about how to get around the island.
First of all I was afraid on airport transportation. LP guidebook suggests to stay near the airport as the beaches are around. I opted to stay in the capital city of Roseau, and this sounded quite alarming because the airport is at the other end of the island. A fellow traveller insisted that I had to rent a car because "so is the situation in Dominica". What finally happened was much…

Hi,

I will be in Dominica in April and would love to do some turtle watching. I have found a lot of information online about Rosalie Bay beach, but it seems that this is a private beach owned by the Rosalie Bay Resort.

A Dominica tourist website recommended the beaches around Marigot, Londonderry, Wesley and Calibishie in the northeast, but I cannot find any details of how you organise a turtle watching tour or which beaches are best in those areas.

Does anyone have an advice please? Thank…
