Boating in Maribo

The good ship Anemonen sails on Maribo’s island-dotted lake in summer, starting from the jetty outside the cathedral. Trips are typically either 50-minute loops or two hours with a stop on Borgø, an island that hides the ruins of an 11th-century fortress destroyed by a medieval peasants’ uprising.

From mid-May to September, count on departures at 10.30am and 1pm on Saturdays, plus Wednesdays in June and most days in July and August (see the website for the full schedule and bookings). On midsummer Sunday mornings there's also a 3½-hour trip to look for white-tailed eagles (adult/child 110/40kr).
