The beautiful beach is Hornbæk's main attraction.

Kitesurfers and windsurfers hang out on the eastern beach, with gear and lessons available through Hornbæk Surf Shop. For hikers, consider combining the coastal path with a walk through Hornbæk Plantage to create a satisfying loop of around 8km.

Even when closed, the tourist office posts an accommodation listing in the glass window of the library door with contact details for a dozen B&Bs, six hotels and three camping grounds.

There are around a dozen dining/cafe options in Havnevej, Øresundsvej, Friisvej and Nordre Strandvej, which together form a rough rectangle of central streets.

Drinking & Nightlife

The small bar area of Hansens Café feels like you've wandered into a classic English country pub. Though utterly unexotic, Sunspot Cafe has a perfect beach location.
