Getting There & Away
Ærøfærgerne runs year-round car ferries on three routes:
- Svendborg–Ærøskøbing The main service, running up to 12 times daily (75 minutes).
- Faaborg–Søby Twice/three times daily weekends/weekdays (one hour).
- Fynshav–Søby From Fynshav on the island of Als (southern Jutland). Three times daily, 70 minutes.
Prices are the same on all three routes. All tickets are return fares that can be combinations of any two routes. For most of the year the return fare is 80/40/166kr per adult/child/car, but it increases steeply between late June and mid-August when you'll pay 212/106/463kr. Bicycles cost 29kr at any time. If you have a car, it’s wise to reserve a few days ahead, further ahead for summer weekends.
The ferry link between Marstal and Rudkøbing (on Langeland) has not operated since 2013, but at the time of writing, there were tentative plans to restore it in 2019.
