Start by mixing the old with the new at two of Aarhus’ big-ticket attractions – ARoS for cutting-edge art and architecture, Den Gamle By for a taste of yesteryear – with lunch at one of the city's fun food halls in between. Finish with dinner at one of Aarhus' new breed of award-winning eateries like Restaurant Hærværk. Next day, visit the remarkable Moesgaard Museum, then return to town to visit the cathedral and poke around the boutiques and bistros of the Latin Quarter, where you’ll have no trouble finding a cool spot to refuel or hear live music.
On the third day, take a cycling tour or do your own two-wheeled investigating: venture south to Marselisborg, or north to Risskov via Aarhus Ø. Later, check out the boutiques and restaurants of the Frederiksbjerg neighbourhood. On day four, consider some out-of-town options: Legoland, the pretty waterways of the Lake District, or the beaches or funparks of Djursland.
