U Zlatého Tygra

Pub in Staré Město

Novelist Bohumil Hrabal’s favourite hostelry, the ‘Golden Tiger’ is one of the few Old Town drinking holes that has hung onto its soul – and its reasonable prices (45Kč per 0.45L of Pilsner Urquell), considering its location close to Old Town Square. A thick fog of cigarette smoke keeps many tourists away.

This was the place that Václav Havel took Bill Clinton in 1994 to show him a real Czech pub.
