Welcome to Kroměříž
Sleepy Kroměříž is worth a detour if you happen to be in this part of the country. The main draw is the sumptuous baroque Archbishop's Chateau, with its commanding tower, rococo interiors and even a certifiable masterpiece: Titian’s The Flaying of Marsyas. The palace is a Unesco World Heritage Site and a great place to while away a few hours. Outside the palace, there are some attractive Renaissance and baroque churches and other buildings scattered about, and two lovely gardens: the formal Flower Garden and a sprawling park below the chateau itself. Kroměříž is also home to an excellent microbrewery, an essential retreat once you’ve taken in the sights.
