Taverna in Pedoulas

In the shade of the platano (plane tree), this restaurant serves such traditional dishes as souvlakia and afelia (slow-cooked pork with wine and herbs). Cypriot coffee here is a must, prepared the time-honoured way by using a tray of hot sand between the brikki (small saucepan) and the open flame. This allows the coffee to heat gradually, giving a richer taste.
