Cuba is not a great shopping destination per se – large department stores and big-box mega-stores are nonexistent here. However, if you're in the market for rum, cigars, coffee, unique local art, hand-made crafts, or Cuba-themed souvenirs, you're in luck. Havana has the best array of shops. The resort areas are also well-endowed with well-stocked souvenir outlets. For more interesting paraphernalia, gravitate to one of the private vendor markets located in most provincial cities.
