The intermunicipal bus station, opposite the train station, receives mostly local buses of little use to travelers. However, trucks to Las Tunas and Guisa leave from here.
For a few pesos a ride, bici-taxis are useful for getting around town. There's a stand near the train station and usually some waiting outside the bus station.
Sunwing flies directly from Toronto and Montreal into Sierra Maestra Airport in winter and transfers people directly to the Marea del Portillo hotels.
The Bayamo airport (airport code BYM) is mainly served by Cubana. It's 4km out of town toward Holguín on the Carretera Central.
