Welcome to Varaždinske Toplice
Sulphurous thermal springs at a steaming temperature of 58°C have been attracting weary visitors to Varaždinske Toplice since the Romans first established a health settlement here in the 1st century AD. Gentle, wooded hills surround this appealing spa town, which has an assortment of churches and historic buildings, including the baroque castle. Adjacent is the city museum, with its sculpture of Minerva from the 3rd century AD. Aqua Iasae is the remains of the Roman spa built between the 1st and 4th centuries AD.
