After the national park we visit one of the most beautiful towns on the coast - Sibenik. It is the oldest originally Croatian town with the spectacular Renaissance cathedral - the masterpiece of our famous architect Juraj Dalmatinac. The cathedral is today on a UNESCO heritage list because of the unique way of its construction. Besides the cathedral, the city prides itself with a myriad of Renaissance palaces and beautiful squares. Sibenik was also the first town in Europe to get electricity from a hydroelectric power plant built on Krka river and becuase of its great heritage it is a must for anyone visiting Croatia.
The driver and I will pick you up at your accommodation. It will take an hour and twenty minutes from Split to Krka National Park. Enjoy the walk through the national park and later visit the ethnology museum with the watermills. There will be time for a swim in the river just next to the most beautiful waterfall called Skradinski buk. Later we drive to Sibenik- the oldest originally Croatian town with its magnificent St. James's cathedral in the heart of the Old Town. together we explore this amazing medieval city. Lunch break can be organised either in the national park or in Sibenik. Afterwards we drive to Split.
