Tour description provided by Viator

Make a pilgrimage to Medjugorje, a town in Bosnia and Herzegovina believed to be the site of visions of the Virgin Mary, on this private day trip from Sibenik Follow in the steps of millions of pilgrims and explore Medjugorje independently, visiting the church and sites where local children first reported apparitions in 1981. Round-trip transport, hotel pickup and drop-off, and ample time to sightsee, shop, and eat in Medjugorje is included.
Meet your driver-guide at your Sibenik area hotel at about 9am, and travel northward along Croatia’s picturesque coast by private vehicle. This small town became famous in 1981, when six local children reported seeing visions of the Virgin Mary. Since then, they have experienced further apparitions, and the sites of their visions have drawn millions of pilgrims. Visit the St. James Church, the 1960s parish church with its exterior altar that has become a pilgrimage center. Then, maybe climb to the Statue of Our Lady that commemorates the visions on Crnica Hill, and visit Krizevac Hill, where a cross erected in 1934 seemingly presaged the apparitions 50 years later. Afterward, perhaps browse the souvenir shops and enjoy lunch (own expense) at one of Medjugorje’s restaurants. Your trip concludes with a late afternoon hotel drop-off in Sibenik.
