Jadrolinija operates the following car ferries:
- Makarska to Sumartin on Brač (passenger/car 30/150KN, one hour) three times daily, increasing to four times in June and September, five times in July and August. Note: bus connections to/from Sumartin are infrequent.
- Drvenik to Sućuraj on Hvar (16/108KN, 35 minutes, at least six daily). Note: bus services to/from Sućuraj are extremely limited.
From June to September Kapetan Luka has a daily high-speed catamaran between Makarska and Dubrovnik (160KN, 3¼ hours), Sobra on Mljet (140KN, 2¼ hours), Korčula Town (130KN, one hour), Bol on Brač (90KN, 35 minutes) and Split (100KN, 1½ hours).
Makarska is the main transport hub, but most coastal services stop in all the villages and towns along the way. From Makarska there are buses to Dubrovnik (105KN, three hours, eight daily), Split (50KN, 1¼ hours, at least hourly), Šibenik (100KN, three hours, at least four daily), Rijeka (275KN, seven hours, two daily) and Zagreb (175KN, six hours, 10 daily).
