The Rio Celeste National Park is a beautiful 1.5 hour scenic drive from the Arenal Volcano through rural villages. It is near the Tenorio & Miravalles Volcanoes and becoming an increasingly popular area to visit. You will hike through the dense, lush, tropical rain forest that surrounds the park.
You will get picked up at your hotel in a comfortable air-conditioned shuttle van. Pick ups are offered at most hotels in the area. The bilingual guide will explain how the day will unfold. You will then head toward the national park. The park entrance is included in the price. You and your nature guide can go at your own pace and you'll learn interesting things about the rain forest along the way. When you arrive to Los Tenideros, where two rivers come together, you'll be amazed at the celestial turquoise blue water color. You'll finish off with lunch at a local and then head back to La Fortuna. Wear secure shoes for hiking, bug spray, comfortable clothing, a change of clothes, rain gear, and water. Please note: The Río Celeste waterfall may lose its blue color during rainstorms. The policy is to advise clients the day of the tour if it is raining in the area and offer the tour for the following day, should clients want to postpone or change to a different tour. No refunds for inclement weather or swimming in the river.A delicious lunch is included in this tour. After a leisurely lunch, you will head back to La Fortuna and be dropped off at your hotel.
