Hi all!

Currently I am working as a dive instructor in Quepos, and a friend of mine will be visiting from 26th of April until 15th of May.

26th of April he will stay in a hotel in Alejuela near the airport, and basically wants to relax and do some active stuff. I thought of visiting Santa Teresa and Monteverde for this. Originally, I thought it would be handy if he would came and stay with me in Quepos for a few days, but I read that one could easily go from Jáco to Montezuma with a 'fast…

Hi my partner and I are travelling to Costa Rica for 15 days late August- beginning September and we're mainly looking to hike, surf and relax. Does anyone have recommendations of places to visit? Best beaches for surfing, hot spots, parks you can hike during raining season, etc? Is it realistic for us to visit both Caribbean and pacific coasts in 15 days? Is it easy to travel by bus between towns and coasts?
Thanks in advance!
Em

Hello fellow adventurers! My name is Tina, and I am 25 y/o from Los Angeles, planning on a solo trip to Costa Rica from approximately 5/5/18 to 5/16/18. I want to go to La Fortuna, Monteverde, Manuel Antonio, and maybe Jaco if I have time. l would like to spend my days exploring the beautiful landscapes CR has to offer and dancing the nights away at CR bars/clubs. Some top things I am looking forward to include hiking the arenal volcano, Monteverde cloud forest walk, hot springs, ziplining…

Hello! We are going to Costa Rica for fourteen nights in late July - early August. Flights have been booked and I’m hoping to nail down our itinerary. We’re a family of four with a 6 and 9 year old. Hoping for a good mix of wildlife, adventure and some beach time without too much driving. After scouring the forum and reading that Monteverde and Manuel Antonio are maybe overrated compared to the alternatives, I opted for a Caribbean side trip. Here’s what I’m thinking:

Days 1-3 - Drive directly…

Hi,
My gf and I are going to Costa Rica for 25 days in end of August and September. We were planning on having a budget of around 100usd per day for the both of us. We were thinking about bringing a tent and do camping there to save some extra money for a maximum of activities. Anybody got some advise on what to bring or not to bring and if camping is do-able there if not what would do the best option?

Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know the color of the bus from SJ airport to downtown Alajuela. I know where the bus stop on the street in front of airport. I think it is Tuasa and comes every 10 minutes. Knowing the color would help if anyone knows.

WARNING WARNING WARNING

I want to share our experience in the hope it will avoid others from paying too heavy price for their wrong choice:

We booked a 10 days trip in January 2018 from Saint Germain Tours via Julia Siri De Unamuno, who came highly recommended. All went well and efficient until the last hotel we booked. We discovered that it was a different hotel from the one we agreed upon (we did not pay attention on getting the vouchers). We called Julia via whatsApp, she acknowledged the…

Hello,

I am travelling to Liberia next week landing at 6:10 a.m. I am hoping to take public transportation or a shuttle to Tamarindo upon arrival - however I am need of advice on the best way to do this. Is this something that I can easily organize upon arrival? I am hoping to keep it cheap - but I also don't want the ride to be outrageously longer than it needs to be. I will be travelling solo.

Also, I am not sure what currency is best to bring. I know that USD are widely accepted, but I…

Hi, all.

My son and I will be going to Costa Rica for the first time in June! Hooray!! :o) We only have 9 days, and I would prefer not renting a car, taking busses instead. I'm looking for advice on which parts of the country to focus on, and which airport to fly in/out of...

We are interested in seeing some wildlife (ie: monkeys, a turtle hatchery), zip lines/swinging bridges, and having some beach time. I will be booking our lodging via AirB&B, as it would be helpful if I can cook some…

Hi folks ,
Myself and a friend are travelling to Costa Rica for 10 days at the beginning of May. I am trying to figure out an itinerary that takes in as much as possible in a small space of time. We love wildlife and thinking of doing a couple of days in Monteverde , then on to Manual Antonio to explore the national Park , next to Uvita to visit Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary and then finishing up on the Osa Peninsula staying in Drakes Bay to trek Corcovado national park.
What I am trying to figure…
