Nestled in a narrow valley surrounded by imposing mountains, 18km east of Santa Rosa de Cabal, this thermal bath complex has seven pools, including the small, two-person pozos de amor, and a spa offering a full range of treatments, including mud therapy, facials, peels and massage. Come on a weekday to avoid the crowds.
Day trips from Pereira, including round-trip transportation, cost COP$80,000/55,000 per adult/child aged three to 10 years. They run on Fridays and weekends (or daily on demand), departing from the Termales San Vicente Office at 9am and returning at 6:30pm; call in advance to reserve. Day-trip prices include admission, lunch and a refreshment.
Most visitors hang around in the main pools near the restaurant building, but the natural Piscina de las Burbujas, surrounded by greenery near the main gate, is well worth checking out. A short walk further down the valley lies the invigorating Rio Termal, where the thermal waters mix with the rushing stream to create amazing natural spas surrounded by thick forest.
The complex also has natural saunas built over 80°C to 90°C hot springs. There are adventure activities, including a canopy line high above the valley (COP$25,000) and abseiling in a waterfall (COP$40,000), plus two scenic walking trails.
On-site accommodations range from comfortable, wood-paneled rooms (singles/doubles including breakfast from COP$188,000/288,000) to camping with access to the thermal pools (COP$88,000 per person).
