Challenge yourself on a 4-day hiking adventure through the Colombian Jungle as you trek the mythical Ciudad Perdida (Lost City) hidden in the foothill of the Sierra Nevada Mountain. Archaeologists believe it was founded around 800 AD by the Tayrona culture. Check out its plazas and more than 100 terraces carved into the hillside.This vigorous trekking experience traverses the unspoiled terrain of the Colombian wilderness, culminating in a visit to an impressive indigenous archaeological site dating to the 9th century. Your small group tour, limited to just 11 participants, also includes a guide, campsite accommodations, entrance fees, round-trip transport from the Magic Tours main office (Historical Center Santa Marta) and all the meals included as shown in the itinerary.
Day 1: Santa Marta – Mamey – 1st Camp (L, D)Your first day of the trek begins with the morning meeting point at 8:30 am at the Magic Tours main office (in the Historical center of Santa Marta). Hop on a 4 wheel-drive vehicle and enjoy a 3-hour road trip to a small town called El Mamey, where you’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant serving typical Colombian Food.After lunch, the first trek begins. It’s a 4-hour hike to the first campsite, stopping along the way whenever the group needs a break. When we reach the camp, we will have dinner and then hit the sack, resting up for you long day of trekking the next day.Day 2: 1st Camp – Mutanzi – 3rd Camp (B, L, D)We will wake up early and eat a quick breakfast before departing around 6am for our 2-hour trek to an indigenous village called Mutanzi. We will then walk for about 40 minutes from Mutanzi to the 2nd Campsit where a delicious lunch will be waiting for us. Rest for a while and get ready for one last 4-hour trek to the 3rd camp, where dinner will be served.Day 3: 3rd Camp – Ciudad Perdida – 2nd Camp (B, L, D)After breakfast, leave camp around 6am for the hike to Ciudad Perdida, which you’ll reach around 7am and enter by climbing its 1,200 stone stairs. You’ll have two hours to explore the ancient city, set in the dense jungle. Our guide will give you a quick tour and be present to answer all of your questions.After, we will return to the 3rd campsite where we’ll have lunch and will be able to rest for a while. In the afternoon, get ready for a 4-hour trek back to the 2nd camp, where you’ll have dinner and stay the night.Day 4: 2nd Camp – Mamey – Santa Marta (B, L)After breakfast, the longest hike will take place. We will trek for 7-hours, mostly downhill, to el Mamey, where we’ll have lunch again, as we did on Day 1.  Our guide will then drive you back to your Santa Marta via 4 wheel-drive vehicle.We’ll arrive in mid-afternoon, concluding our trekking tour.
