Walking

There are a number of rewarding treks into the mountains surrounding the town that visit waterfalls, caves and lookout points. The popular and fairly easy Camino Herrare loop leaves town along the lovely stone path at the top of Carrera 6 and continues to the Cascada del Amor, a small but pleasant waterfall, and Charco Corazon, a heart-shaped swimming hole, before curving back around to the upper station of La Garrucha, from where you can take this rustic cable car back to the center if you dare. Otherwise you can walk down and across the valley. Allow at least an hour if returning on La Garrucha and an additional 20 minutes or so if walking back through the valley.
