These thermal baths are surrounded by splendid mountain scenery. Termales Aguatibia has six thermal pools, a mud spring and a 53m-long 'toboggan' – a butt-bruising concrete slide. Most of the pools here are warm rather than hot. There's also a pretty lake with rowing boats, a mud bath and a restaurant on-site (mains COP$14,000 to COP$20,000).

At the time of research, the owners were in dispute with the local indigenous community and access to the site was restricted. Check the latest in Popayán before heading out.
