Tour description provided by Viator

You can take a walk to La Laguna surrounded by vegetation, history and beauty. This ancestral place was one of the sacred lagoons of the indigenous Tribe of the Muiscas, there was the ritual of investiture of the new Zipa (Cacique); according to tradition, this one was in a raft of richly decorated reeds; his body was covered entirely with gold powder; at his feet they put a large pile of gold and emeralds to offer to the gods and burning braziers to burn a kind of incense called moque; the new dignitary was accompanied by four caciques and when the raft reached the center of the lagoon, the people who were on the banks threw gold objects and precious stones into the waters. This is one of the origins of the El Dorado legend. You will walk through the same paths where the zipas did and you will see that it is a unique and special place. MINIMUM 2PAX TO RESERVE.
