Welcome to Far West Ngari
Tibet’s far wild west has few permanent settlers but is nevertheless a lodestone to a billion pilgrims from three major religions (Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism). They are drawn to the twin spiritual power places of Mt Kailash and Lake Manasarovar, two of the world's most fabled and far-flung destinations. Also hidden here are the enigmatic ruins of past kingdoms, entire cities consisting of cave dwellings and some of Tibet's most beautiful remaining murals.
