This institution has been serving up classic Sūzhōu-style soup noodles for 200 years. The delicious broth, which is made fresh each night from herbs, spices and a variety of animal bones, is the key component – come early, as once the broth runs out the restaurant stops serving. Do as locals do and slurp it out of the side of the bowl.
Try the signature fēngzhèn noodles served in white broth (枫镇白汤面底), with a huge hunk of soft pork belly (枫镇大肉). Order at the small counter at the entrance, take your number and find a seat.
