Xinjiang in Jing'an

Not a single inch of wall space survives undecorated at this cornerside Xīnjiāng restaurant, and although the spangled, overblown interior only vaguely channels Kashgar, the food summons up the pungent aromas of China’s mighty northwest. The staples – lamb kebabs (¥6 each), shàozi noodles (¥Y18), naan bread (¥6) – are tasty and filling. Uighur dancing shakes tail feathers from 7pm nightly (apart from Mondays).
