Despite the alarming name, there’s nothing remotely barbaric about the food here. Instead, you get fine MSG-free Yúnnán cuisine served by friendly staff in a laid-back (though somewhat noisy) atmosphere. It’s hard to fault any of the dishes but the goat's cheese is unmissable, and the stewed beef and mint casserole is almost as good, as is the incomparable ‘grandmother’s mashed potatoes’.

It’s essential to make room for the chicken wings too, which come covered in a seriously addictive secret sauce. To top it off, there's an impressively long imported beer list. You can also enter at 169 Jinxian Rd.
